Chalet Angelia

To improve the comfort and privacy of his guests, the owner has built a new terrace behind the chalet: this is where the hot tub is now installed, instead of in front of the house. New photos are due soon.

About the property ...

This beautifully appointed chalet has plenty of space for 14 guests, with accommodation set out over three floors, all with balconies or outside space.

When you arrive, you can drive straight in to the double garage, or park outside. There's room in the garage to store your skis, and you'll find a stylish heated boot room just off the entrance hall. There's also a sauna and a wonderful bedroom on this floor, with a double and a single bed. There's also an en suite bathroom and doors to the terrace.

There are four more bedrooms on the top floor. There are two large double rooms, one of which has access to the balcony. Both have en suite shower rooms. The other two rooms each have double beds and an extra single bed, ideal for a child. There is also an extra upper bed on top of the double bed in one of the rooms.  Whilst one has an en suite bathroom, the other has an en suite shower room. There is also a separate WC on this floor.

Most of the bedrooms have televisions, quality bed linen and faux fur throws for extra cosiness.

The first floor is devoted to the bright and sunny living area. A well equipped modern kitchen makes cooking a pleasure, and there's a central bar island, where you can have breakfast or perhaps just an apero while you keep the cook company.

The large dining table has room for everyone to enjoy a meal together, and afterwards you can gather around the fire on the three cosy sofas, complete with throws and cushions. Those with a little more energy can enjoy a game of table football or perhaps watch a film in the separate TV area.

Large windows fill this room with light, and there are doors on to the south-facing balcony, where you watch the sun set or just enjoy the view. In the summer, fire up the barbecue and enjoy an outdoor meal. At the back of the chalet, a newly built terrace welcomes the jacuzzi - ideal to start or finish the day during your stay !

About the area ...

Despite its tranquil location, there's great skiing, hiking and biking all round you when you stay at Chalet Angelia.

The resorts of Chinaillon and Le Grand Bornand are close by, and it's only a little further to the Aravis resorts of La Clusaz and La Croix Fry in Manigod.

Non-skiers won't be bored either -  try hiking or snowshoeing, paragliding, hot air ballooning, ice skating or ice-climbing. Le Grand Bornand boasts the Famille Plus mark, ensuring that there is always entertainment and activities for even the youngest visitors.

In the summer, a network of walking and biking trails criss-cross the slopes, and you can pick up a route map for either at the tourist office. Golfers will enjoy being so close to the beautiful 9-hole golf course with a great driving range.

If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby, and for those very hot days head for the fantastic swimming pool complex, with a restaurant and grassy areas for picnics.

August sees the International Children’s Festival in Le Grand Bornand - a week of puppet shows, circus acts and workshops, with a grand firework finale. It’s always hugely popular, so make sure you book early to guarantee a holiday you’ll never forget!
